Your screenshot shows GSView 5, which is not an Artifex application, GSView
versions 1 to 5 were developed and distributed by Ghostgum Pty in Australia.

Well this isn't a Ghostscript problem, though its hard to see how you can fail
to close the program.

My first thought would be; use the current version. You've opened this against
Ghostscript 9.20 and the current version is 9.22. You *MUST* ensure you install
both applications with the same word size, either 32 or 64 bit.

I would suggest you uninstall Ghostscript and GSView. Then install Ghostscript
9.22, then install GSview, then *configure* GSView (easy configure should
work). After that the application should work, it does for me on Windows 7.
However, GSView 5 long predates the release of Windows 10, I have no idea if it
works with Windows 10 or not.

what you mean by *configure* GSView (easy configure should work)?
Can you show/tell me how to do the easy configure?

Thank you Ken Sharp.

Open GSView 5, from the menu bar select 'Options' then select either 'Easy
Configure' or 'Advanced Configure'. Easy Configure should detect installed
versions of Ghostscript and simply offer a choice between the installed
versions. I'd use that one.

The thing is after I open the GSview 5 I can not select or do anything with it.
it is just showing as a screenshot of the program with no function at all. I
have no access to any of the program functions.

Then I guess it doesn't work on Windows 10, no idea why.

Thank you for your help. I got it to work by using the Windows 10 program
compatibility troubleshooter! See screenshot.
