This syntax outputs an broken PDF file.. It has worked in earlier versions

gs -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=pdfwrite
-sFONTPATH=/usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts -dCompressFonts=true
-dDetectDuplicateImages -dPDFSETTINGS=/screen -dColorImageResolution=50
-dGrayImageResolution=50 -sOutputFile=output.pdf gs.pdf

Well, when I try it with 9.21 I get a Seg fault. However, it works perfectly
well with the current (9.22) release. I'd suggest you try that.
