Bug ID: 698768
Summary: Black CMYK not resulting in 100% gray
Product: Ghostscript
Version: master
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 7
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P4
Component: Color Management
Assignee: ***@artifex.com

The customer is currently using -dUseFastColor, but if I omit that parameter
then the resulting rendered output is only pure black when rendering to a
32-bit CMYK device.

In particular, when rendering to a monochrome device such as the tiffg3 device,
the output is halftoned, which is a significant problem for legibility at such
low resolution.

gs -sDEVICE=tiffg3 -sOutputFile=out.tif Input.ps

shows the problem.

While its obviously not a problem for the customer currently, I can't help
feeling that C=M=Y=0, K=1 should not result in gray values.

By the way, feel free to tell me I'm doing it wrong, I'm happy to accept an
amended command line.
