When run using the following command line

/bin/gs -DSCANCONVERTERTYPE=2 -r600 -dGrayValues=256 -sDEVICE=png16m
-dMaxPatternBitmap=20000000 -dInterpolateControl=4 -dLeadingEdge=3 -Z:
-dMaxBitmap=0 -dBGPrint=true -dNumRenderingThreads=2 -dNOCIE -dQUIET
-sOutputFile="output_%d.png" -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -sBandListStorage=memory
-dBufferSpace=16m
../performance_tests/ISO_IEC_24712/pdf/Advertising-PowerPoint-A4.pdf

vertical white lines appear through the main and background images. For
example, on page 1, a line runs through the image of the dog, and additional
white lines run down through the brown background image.

The problem can be reproduced both with gs 9.22 and with master at commit
ea81364f dated 11/8/17.

This problem does not occur when the page is run with -dLeadingEdge=0.

I can reproduce this problem on a 32bit Windows build. It doesn't appear to be
related to clist or background printing, but InterpolateControl is suspect.

debugbin/gswin32c.exe -dLastPage=1 -o out.png -r600 -sDEVICE=png16m
-dMaxPatternBitmap=20000000 -dInterpolateControl=4 -dLeadingEdge=3
-dMaxBitmap=800000000 -dBufferSpace=16m
../MyTests/Advertising-PowerPoint-A4.pdf

(Using -Zl shows no clist usage at all)

White lines are present (but harder to see) with -dInterpolateControl=2, and
get more prominent/numerous with -dInterpolateControl=8
